What notable recent deals or charter activity have been announced?

Short answer

The most useful public deal-flow evidence is a mixture of fleet appointments, marketed availability and aggregate booking activity. It should not be presented as a database of disclosed private-client transactions.

January 22, 2026Burgess reviewed additions that joined its charter fleet in 2025, including 44.1m FORTITUDE 1, built in 2025.Charter-management/fleet activityThe publication date is not the date of a new 2026 booking. Ask which operational and crew information has since changed. (burgessyachts.com)
February 3, 2026IYC announced 72m GECO by G. Armani for charter, advertising 12 guests in seven cabins.Charter-fleet appointmentEvidence of marketed flagship supply, not a completed charter or proof of delivery readiness on the announcement date. (iyc.com)
February 10, 2026IYC announced 35m LA GIOCONDA, advertising 10 guests in five cabins, following a stated 2021 refit.Charter-fleet appointmentMore directly relevant to a family shortlist; appointment does not establish the requested week’s availability. (iyc.com)
April 10, 2026Burgess reported 15 yacht sales in 15 weeks, with combined asking value above €518m; named transactions included HERE COMES THE SUN.Adjacent ownership transactions—excluded from charter market totalsAsking value is not disclosed sale proceeds. This is ownership activity, not charter revenue or proof of future charter availability. (feat-app.burgessyachts.com)
June 26, 2026Burgess marketed a five-yacht last-minute summer selection including ROXSTAR and SPIRIT.Public availability campaignDemonstrates that late inventory existed in a strengthening market; the advertised summer windows are historical. (feat-app.burgessyachts.com)
July 27, 2026IYC reported more than 680 contracts and more than US$124m in charter fees year to date.Supplier-reported booking flowNot independently audited; not directly comparable with full-year totals. (iyc.com)
Observed October 16, 2026A Burgess winter-charter page advertised MAESTRO at €136,000 instead of €170,000, a 20% reduction, stating “from 15 September onwards.”Advertised offer—not a closed dealThe offer text does not establish an expiry date or year. Reconfirm dates and conditions; do not treat it as a live option. (feat-app.burgessyachts.com)

What does this say about negotiating a charter?

Negotiate the entire proposal, not just the base rate. The MAESTRO example is evidence of a published discount on one yacht—not a market-wide clearing-price reduction. Burgess’s separate June availability campaign also demonstrates that “available late” and “discounted” should not be treated as synonymous without a documented comparison rate. Recommended questions to send the broker:

  1. What exact dates, duration and embarkation arrangements does this rate cover?
  2. Is the comparison price for the same season and charter length?
  3. Does accepting the offer change payment, cancellation or other conditions?
  4. Is delivery or redelivery payable separately?
  5. What cruising and provisioning assumptions underpin the APA?
  6. What is the owner’s acceptance deadline, and is the yacht actually on option for us?

A discount is useful only after the yacht passes the family’s suitability requirements and the total-cost comparison.
