Which Bahamas cruising fees changed in April 2026?

Short answer

The April 1, 2026 schedule supersedes older estimates for the charges it covers. The Customs Management amendment revises temporary cruising-permit fees and anchorage fees; the tourism ministry separately explains the updated schedules and re-entry arrangements. (laws.bahamas.gov.bs)

The following bands are particularly relevant to this desk’s yacht-size range. Amounts are dollars as published by the Bahamian authorities. (bahamas.com)

More than 50 ft, up to and including 100 ft$350$750$1,000$100
More than 100 ft$600$2,000$3,000$200

The ministry states that 30-day permits do not include free re-entry; six-month permits include one, and twelve-month permits include two. Its anchorage guidance applies to pleasure vessels not docking at a marina. What does this mean for a Bahamas crewed yacht charter’s total cost?

The recommended control is a charge-allocation sheet. For every proposed government or permit charge, ask:

  1. Is it a yacht-level operating cost or a charge generated by this particular charter?
  2. Is the yacht already covered by a valid permit?
  3. Is the quoted amount for one entry, a longer period or a renewal?
  4. Does the contract put this cost inside the base fee, inside the expense advance or outside both?
  5. What happens if the itinerary changes and the charge is not incurred?

Avoid approving both an estimated permit charge and the same expense again during reconciliation. Equally, do not assume that a lower short-period tariff automatically determines the operator’s actual permit obligation.
