Video and podcast roundups · Using the playlist

How should a family office turn this playlist into a decision?

Short answer

Use the recordings to improve the evidence request—not to replace it. The following is a proposed workflow for the organiser, rather than a claim that the programmes themselves prescribe these steps.

Aerial view of a yacht in clear water

Step 1: Agree the brief before comparing yachts

Use the booking and first-timer selections to prepare a short document covering:

  • Travel dates, flexibility and decision deadline.
  • Guest groups and proposed cabin sharing.
  • Total-trip spending ceiling, including what it must cover.
  • Functional access requirements and preferred daily pace.
  • Children’s supervision arrangements.
  • Activities that are essential, optional or unsuitable.

Have the principal approve the trade-offs, not just the destination.

Step 2: Compare costs and suitability separately

Use the pricing selections to build the financial worksheet, and the IYC and childcare discussions to prepare the suitability questions. Do not combine everything into a single score that allows attractive amenities to outweigh a missing non-negotiable.

Step 3: Create a separate approval gate before payment

The recommended output is a one-page decision brief: why this yacht, why this route, expected cost, remaining uncertainty and who must resolve it. Attach the detailed worksheet rather than forcing the principal to interpret every supplier document.

Payment verification belongs outside the media shortlist. The FBI advises independently checking payment requests and changes to account details, including calling through independently obtained contact information rather than relying on a potentially fraudulent message. Apply that control before a material charter transfer. FBI guidance on business email compromise. (fbi.gov)
