What should we reconfirm before the final payment and departure?

Short answer

Recheck the facts that justified selecting the yacht. Our recommended reconfirmation is a short exception report: what remains unchanged, what has changed and what requires a decision.

Key points from this page
  • Do not sign off an unexplained change merely to keep the timetable moving.

Request written confirmation of:

  • Exact embarkation and disembarkation arrangements.
  • Expected captain, chef and relevant specialist personnel.
  • Agreed cabin configuration.
  • Essential accessibility arrangements.
  • Essential equipment and any outages or substitutions.
  • Captain-reviewed route and suitable alternatives.
  • Accepted dietary and other functional requirements.
  • APA funding, spending authority and top-up process.
  • Guest documentation and relevant entry requirements.
  • Emergency contacts and escalation route.

At boarding, ask for the agreed safety briefing and a practical orientation to tenders, communications and household-specific needs.

At departure, retain the expense account, record any outstanding invoices or disputes, authorize any gratuity separately and agree how any remaining refund will be processed.

Do not sign off an unexplained change merely to keep the timetable moving. Identify whether it affects suitability, expenditure, contractual rights or none of those—and route the decision to the right approver.
