How much is the charter deposit, and when is the balance due?

Short answer

Use the payment schedule in your agreement; do not assume every booking follows the same timetable. Burgess publishes a model of 50% of the charter fee on signing, with the remaining fee, APA and agreed additional charges due five weeks before departure. (burgessyachts.com)

Family-office control: identify the paying entity, contracting party and authorized signatory early. Ask whether third-party payment is acceptable and what documents are needed before funds can be accepted.

If a quotation is in euros, keep the contractual euro liability visible. Obtain the paying bank’s actual conversion and transfer costs rather than treating an indicative online dollar conversion as the amount finance will pay.
